Russian Ballet Icons Gala and Dinner

The Russian Ballet Icons Gala and Dinner, dedicated to Anna Pavlova, will feature famous excerpts from her greatest roles, performed by principal dancers of the Bolshoi, Mariinsky, Royal Ballet, English National Ballet, ballets of the Grand Opera Paris, Berlin Staatsoper , New York City Ballet and the Ballet of Monte Carlo. These will include: “Paquita”, “The Pharoah’s Daughter”, “Le Roi Candaule”, “Giselle”, “La Bayadére”, “The Sleeping Beauty”, “Marcobomba” and masterpieces of contemporary choreography.

The gala will be followed by a post-performance dinner for VIP guests in the presence of the esteemed ballet dancers at the exclusive St. Martin’s Lane Hotel, next door to the London Coliseum.

The series of the Russian Ballet Icons galas have been organised by Ensemble Productions annually for the last six years. Every gala is built around a legendary name from the Russian ballet world and is a multimedia experience, combining performances by the best living masters of ballet with the history of the genre through one of the great icons of the Russian ballet stage.


   
 
 

Russian Festival Maslenitsa

After the success of the festival over the last few years and particularly the lasting positive resonance of the event last year on Trafalgar Square, the festival of Russian culture Maslenitsa, will again take place in the heart of the British capital on the 26 February 2012.


This year the organisers of the festival would like to show London the new face of Russia, which brings a new energy to the festival and its programme.As always on the main stage in Trafalgar Square there will be performances by the leading Russian groups representing traditional music from all over Russia as well as the most recognisable contemporary popular artists and groups. During the day the crowds will be entertained by ‘skomorokh’ and there will be a special programme of entertainment for children. Stalls around the square will be selling traditional Russian Zakuski, pancakes and souvenirs.
